A CELEBRATION OF COLOR

French artist Veronica Schmitt transitioned from graphic design to fine art painting after relocating to the United States. Immersed in a landscape and culture that were new to her, she found inspiration in both the diversity of everyday American life and the legacy of the California Impressionists, influences that continue to shape her work today.
She creates vibrant, light-filled paintings that celebrate the beauty of ordinary moments. Through her lively depictions of figures and urban landscapes, she invites viewers to imagine the stories unfolding within each scene while reflecting on the richness and diversity of the world around us.

Light is the defining element in her work. Whether exploring the interplay of sunlight and shadow, reflections on a city street, or the glow of a late afternoon sky, she uses color and atmosphere to evoke a sense of place and emotion. Working with energetic, expressive brushwork, she paints on a bright orange-toned canvas, allowing the warm underpainting to shimmer through the surface and lend her paintings their distinctive luminosity.

Veronica completed a Master's degree in Art at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, in France. She is an award-winning artist. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions, received numerous awards, and appeared in publications in both France and the United States, including The Artist’s Magazine and Southwest Art.
